A line in the sand: SapienX Re-launch!

Hey, Reader!

Flipping exciting day for me personally and for everyone connected to SapienX, our new website, brand and core offering is live!! 👀 🚀

Four years ago, PX as a Product was an idea I couldn’t stop thinking about.

In fact, PX as a Product wasn’t even a known phrase, which feels kind of crazy to think about now!

Truthfully, it’s still a niche concept. But the adoption curve is definitely on the rise. PX as a Product has become the umbrella phrase for product-led approaches to People work and more product-centric HR teams.

For me, though, it’s so much more than that. It’s an opportunity to fundamentally change how work is designed and experienced.

So, today feels like a line in the sand.

I am super proud to launch the new SapienX website, brand and core offering today. But what this represents matters much more to me than the website itself.

I started SapienX as a former Head of People turned founder, with a strong point of view: People teams could create more value for employees and the organisation if they thought and worked more like product teams.

Initially, I got started with writing, teaching, speaking and experimenting. Helping individual People leaders apply product thinking to their work. Building belief and a community around an emerging idea.

I started by trying to articulate a different way of thinking.

But applying those thoughts in practice has shown me that People teams don’t just need a different thinking model. They need a different operating model.

I know the “from X to Y” format is a bit overdone, but it’s worth reflecting on the past four years through that lens—so forgive me.

It’s been an incredible experience to help People teams make progress towards a PX as a Product model. Along the way, the way SapienX supports that shift has really changed:

→ From principles and practices to a coherent product model.

→ From individual capability to team activation.

→ From workshops and experimentation to operating-model transformation.

→ From improving People practices to changing how People functions identify problems, organise teams, allocate effort and demonstrate impact.

→ From an interesting approach to a credible alternative to the prevailing HR model.

Honestly, it’s been a massive learning experience for me personally, too.

The more we applied it, the clearer it became that PX as a Product wasn’t simply a useful toolkit for progressive People teams.

It had the potential to become an entirely different model for how People work gets done.

Partnering with Chris marked a major step forward in applying a PX Product model at scale. I’m delighted that SapienX will now formally offer team activation and organisation-level transformation in partnership with Chris and RedOak.

One thing has become super clear over the last 12 months in particular:

This isn’t about better HR.

And it isn’t about productising HR services.

It’s a credible alternative: a product model for work.

Traditional HR functions are set up around siloed specialisms and disconnected centres of excellence. The product model represents a fundamental move away from this way of structuring HR.

Delivering HR services is not the point.

Identifying and solving problems (and spotting opportunities) that help the business and the people within it make progress towards critical objectives is.

That’s what separates this from adding agile language to HR or repackaging existing services.

We want to change the underlying logic of the function: what gets prioritised, how teams organise, how they learn and how value is measured.

And so, SapienX is evolving from an expert-led brand into a PX Product transformation organisation.

The business was originally built around me. In fact, it was very intentionally designed as an experiment in solopreneurship.

I loved those years. They helped me learn, grow and create a voice for myself within the global HR and People community.

I am enormously grateful to everyone who has engaged, shared, collaborated and challenged me along the way.

But around 12 months ago, I began moving away from the solo model.

Today, I’m delighted to publicly make that shift from a brand perspective: from an expert-led brand to a scalable, full-service product transformation offering for individuals, teams and organisations.

Practically, that looks like four distinct but connected elements of the SapienX ecosystem:

Learn — build the understanding, confidence and practical capability to begin through our Immersive PX learning experiences - delivered in partnership with Chris, and Alicia Grimes (The Future Kind)

Activate — apply the model within one team, against a real business challenge, and prove its value through a 90-day team activation.

Transform — redesign how the wider People function prioritises, organises, delivers and measures its work through a full product operating-model transformation.

Gather — come together with the practitioners and leaders advancing the model, so the field continues to evolve through shared practice.

Individuals can learn it.

Teams can prove it.

Organisations can scale it.

A community can advance it.

So, that’s that. The new SapienX is alive in the world.

I have immense pride in seeing a once-unusual idea develop into something robust and real.

PX as a Product isn’t an abstract concept anymore. It’s a proven and credible alternative for how businesses scale and how People functions can enable real business progress while designing meaningful experiences of work.

I am beyond grateful to the clients, collaborators and community members who have tested and shaped this vision into reality.

This is a real step up for me, too, by the way.

It feels like the moment I begin earning my stripes from solo founder to CEO of something designed to scale.

Committing to this ambition publicly scares and excites me in almost equal measure. This launch raises the bar for me personally, and I’m ready to step up to it.

It really feels like we’re no longer simply advocating for the future of People work. We’re building the organisation capable of delivering it.

If you have a little time this week, visit the new site and explore the model.

Tell me what resonates, and what you disagree with.

Ask me the difficult questions about what PX Product transformation looks like in practice.

Maybe you’ll find your starting point across Learn, Activate or Transform.

Or perhaps you’ll simply Gather with the people trying to build a better model for work.

This is a line in the sand for SapienX—but it’s also an invitation.

Explore it. Challenge it. Help us build what comes next.

We’re a product-led organisation, after all. Being open to challenge and continuous learning is the whole point.

Thank you, too - by the way. The fact you choose to subscribe to my newsletter and have been actively supporting this whole journey means the world. 🫶🏻

If you get chance, you could also engage / comment / share my announcement post on LinkedIn, it really helps spread the word and make this movement grow 🙏🏻

Sending love, always.
